Parks and green space comprise much of the east side and are a focal point of many neighborhoods. Parks in this area include Elvehjem, Acewood, Sycamore, Heritage Prairie, Heritage Heights, Heritage Sanctuary, Jannah Village and several dozen other outdoor venues that feature bike paths, playgrounds, and conservation areas.

Many of Madison’s most active neighborhood associations reside on the east side. Fourth of July parades, Easter egg hunts, Halloween bonfires, winter celebrations, park clean-ups, summer picnics, and other annual events bring neighbors together and promote a strong sense of community.

Choosing Real Estate on Madison’s East Side

The east side is "vintage Madison," with neighborhoods that have planned community events throughout the year. The Heritage Heights neighborhood, located in the heart of the east side, is a classic example. Just to the south of Heritage Heights are the Elvehjem and East Buckeye neighborhoods, both with very active associations. Other Madison east side neighborhoods with active associations include the Rolling Meadows, Sprecher East, and McClellan Park neighborhoods.
