Park Street features a stately collection of houses from the early 1900s built along a picturesque, tree-lined corridor. Hubbard Avenue, Elmwood Avenue, and South Avenue feature properties from a similar vintage near the heart of the downtown scene. As you move east along these streets and into the Middleton Heights and the Meadows subdivisions, you'll encounter many Cape Cod, bungalow, ranch style, and mid-century designs. The properties in downtown Middleton feature original woodwork and hardwood floors, old-fashioned front porches and picket fences, and plenty of small town charm. With classic architecture and a prime location, most houses in the area sell very quickly.

Local Parks, Recreation, and Schools

Local parks include Meadows Park located in The Meadows subdivision just east of the downtown area. Nearby Woodside Heights Park and Tiedeman Pond offer quiet spots for outdoor exploration, as does Stricker's Pond, with its surrounding park. The city pool is conveniently located just a few blocks north of the downtown area on the opposite side of University Avenue. Downtown Middleton even offers an outdoor skateboard facility at Quarry Park, located at 7701 Terrace Avenue. 

The homes in downtown Middleton are zoned to Elm Lawn Elementary, which is within walking distance of most area properties. Kromrey Middle School, located at 7009 Donna Drive, serves grades 5-8. Middleton High School is located a few blocks north of the downtown area in the adjacent Parklawn neighborhood. Another great perk of living in this part of Middleton is the public library, which is located on Hubbard Avenue in the center of the downtown scene.

The downtown area is home to many excellent food and drink establishments. Foodies enjoy Vin Santo, Louissiane's, Villa Dolce, Sofra Family Bistro, the Hubbard Street Diner, and Roman Candle Pizza. Many residents also frequent the Willy Street Co-op on University Avenue, which offers an excellent selection of locally grown organic produce. The Capital Brewery, The Village Green, Barriques, and the Free House Pub are all neighborhood establishments where locals can unwind with a drink in hand.
